So for something a little different and and a bit of a change from weddings I went to London earlier this week and teamed up with Mike Brehaut for another of our “inter insulars” this time we did some street fashion photography, I must say we did get some strange looks laying on the ground taking pictured on Millennium bridge but we did managed to bag some great shots and managed to resist the temptation to shoot a bride and groom who just happened to be on the bridge at the same time!
The first day we hired Sky Seraphin a great model who happily posed in front of hoards of (well a few) people during the day. We were keen to get images that “said” London with buses and taxi’s tube signs etc in the background.
We started at the Houses of Parliament then Millennium bridge, St. Paul’s as well as managing to fit in a few coffee shops on route and finally ended up at Piccadilly Circus using the colourful advert sign’s to provide the background.
For the second day we hired another fantastic model Katalin Kallo for some more of the same but at different locations such as the Mall, tower bridge and lots of natural light shots with some fantastic backdrops that only London can provide.
The weather was very hot with lots of bright sunshine which isn’t ideal for shooting so using the powerful Elinchrom Quadra we made the sun disappear and provided our own light where necessary and also used the beautiful natural light in the shade for some stunning portraits. Kit wise we deliberately kept it simple, couple of lenses a 14-24 zoom and a 85mm prime.
